our story
We are the Fordyce family; founders of Macie's Mission Foundation. At the heart of Macie’s Mission is our daughter, Macie. Now seven years old, Macie was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at 18 months after experiencing developmental regression shortly after her first birthday. While her diagnosis changed the future we once imagined, it also introduced us to a community defined by strength, resilience, and hope.

Macie’s Mission started with one simple goal: to help raise money for a cure for Rett Syndrome.
As we’ve walked this journey, we’ve met so many incredible families facing challenges similar to ours. Because of that, our mission has grown. While we’re still deeply committed to supporting research for Rett Syndrome, we also want to lift up other families along the way.
We’re here to help families turn their stories into action; whether that means supporting them, connecting them with resources, or helping them create their own fundraisers to fight for treatments and cures that matter to them. No one should have to do this alone, and together, we can make a difference.
Empower.
Our mission is to support and uplift families raising kids with complex needs by creating events, experiences, and services thoughtfully designed just for them. We know this journey can feel overwhelming at times, so we’re here to bring a little more connection, a little more understanding, and even some fun along the way—because every family deserves support and moments to simply enjoy together.
Community.
Through fun, meaningful events and gatherings, we bring families together to connect, share, and feel understood. Macie’s Mission is a place where parents can find their people, build lifelong friendships, and know they’re not alone on this journey.
