More Than a Mission: Creating Moments for Families Like Ours

What began as a idea to raise money for Rett syndrome research has grown into something even bigger than we ever imagined. Macie’s Mission was founded from a place so many special needs families know well: love, hope, and the determination to create a better future for our children. At first, our focus was clear: raise money for research, support the search for treatments, and help move closer to a cure for Rett syndrome. But along the way, something beautiful happened.

We met more families. We heard more stories. We saw more children with unique, complex needs and the incredible parents, siblings, and caregivers who love them fiercely every single day. We realized that while research is important, families need more than hope for tomorrow. We need connection today. We need joy. We need community. We need spaces where our children are celebrated exactly as they are. That is why Macie’s Mission is growing into more than fundraising.

We are creating experiences.

From our new “The Magic of Me” showcase to future family-centered events, our goal is to bring families together in a space filled with love, acceptance, and excitement. These events are designed especially for children with complex needs and the people who support them every day. It will be an event where every smile is celebrated. Every milestone matters. Every child gets to shine.

We know that for many families, finding events that truly feel inclusive can be difficult. Too often, parents are left wondering if their child will be comfortable, welcomed, or understood.

At Macie’s Mission, that understanding is at the heart of everything we do.

Our events will be created with your family in mind; creating magical moments for the whole family. We want parents to leave feeling seen. We want siblings to feel included. We want every child to feel special. And most of all, we want families to know they are not alone.

This next chapter for Macie's Mission is one we are really excited to share with you and we truly hope you’ll join us.

Because this mission has always been about more than one child.
